Join us on a guided kayak tour in Vänern among fantastic archipelagos in Europe’s largest freshwater archipelago.
The guided kayak tour is carried out with comfortable kayaks of high standard. The kayaks are selected based on the group’s previous skills, the weather, and individual preferences, all to ensure the safest and most comfortable paddling experience possible.
In the archipelagos around Mariestad, there are several large nature reserves to protect the rich natural values. Here, there are large untouched areas of natural forest characterized by centuries-old pines where sea eagles and ospreys nest.
With 22,000 islands and islets in freshwater, there’s no need to crowd, worry about jellyfish, or rinse off salt after swimming. Often, we can find our own completely secluded beach or island to stop at, and the water is so clean that we can drink it directly from the lake once we’re out a bit.
Lake Vänern is an inland sea, and paddling conditions can vary greatly depending on the prevailing weather. Vänern Outdoors’ experienced guide takes you safely to their favorite spots and lets you experience the best the archipelagos here have to offer. The guide shares insights about plants, animals, and the environment we traverse. In addition to guiding and safety, the guide provides instruction in the basics of paddling, navigation, and outdoor life. The guide arranges food while you can relax in pleasant company.
